Rifle HuntsRifle: 4-Day Mule Deer Hunts Rifle: 5-Day Rocky Mountain Elk Hunts Guided Hunts Meals Lodging After-Harvest Care TransportationAll rifle hunts are GUIDED HUNTS, where we supply everything you need for a relaxed vacation (except for your personal gear).
You will hunt mature bucks from our residential non-migratory herd of 300-400 mule deer on over 68,000 contiguous acres of private land. Many of our bucks harvested are 4x4 or 4x3 with spreads of 22-26” and horns that carry medium to heavy mass. Each year we harvest a few magnificent bucks range 27-29”. You should expect to see several bucks of different sizes and age classes during the hunt. Our guides are experienced in helping you harvest one of our mature bucks. Browse PHOTOS from previous shoots to see what’s in store for you, including our biggest buck ever, taken in 2001.

Your hunt is for mature branch-antlered bulls from our residential herd of 1000-1200 Rocky Mountain elk. More animals arrive on our lands during the season, with pressure from the Umatilla National Forest hunts. We look to harvest 5-point or better bulls. Most range in the 240-280 B & C class with one or two 300+ bulls taken every year. Browse our PHOTOS to see bulls harvested on previous hunts, including our finest bull to date, a typical 7x7 score of 373.

Our experienced Sarvis GUIDES are there to make sure you have a great time and harvest an animal you’ll be proud of. It’s your hunt and your vacation and we want to make it the best experience possible for you. Our hunter/guide ratio is 2:1 – one guide for every two hunters. Sometimes you get lucky and it’s one-on-one. Guides take care of everything, so you can concentrate on you’re the hunt and relax afterwards.
We’re justifiably proud of the meals we provide. Breakfast includes muffins, Danish, cereal, coffee and juice. Lunch in the field is a simple affair of sandwiches, chips, soft drinks, etc., and there are plenty of snacks to keep you going. But dinner is a gourmet event every night. Entrees like seafood linguini and chicken marsala give you something to look forward to after a day in the field. Beer, wine and soft drinks are provided. We can accommodate special diets on request – just let us know in advance. Meals are provided from dinner on the evening before the hunt starts through breakfast the day after the hunt.
Sarvis Prairie Outfitters offers two comfortable lodging units, complete with satellite TV and an outdoor campfire pit:
Your guide will take care of having your animal field-dressed and stored in a walk-in locker. If you want trophy preparation, we can cape your animal for taxidermy at no extra cost and you can take it with you. Otherwise, at your expense, we can arrange for the local taxidermist to pick up your trophy and prepare it for shipping, or we can ship your trophy to your preferred taxidermist. You can quarter or bone the meat for transportation, or we can make arrangements for professional processing, at your expense.
For guided hunts, we provide all transportation during the hunt. To reach Sarvis Prairie Ranch, you can fly into Portland or Redmond and rent a car, or we can arrange for pick-up at Redmond Airport, at your expense.( SEE MAP )
